Between September 2020 and February 2021, the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee said that nearly 6 million adults and 1.7 million children were struggling to get enough food in the U.K. – 11.5% of the population. Using that measure, we can therefore estimate that 12,650 people in Worthing alone are in food poverty. Foodbank users from across the Adur and Worthing Food Network were invited to participate in this research The resulting report explores the physical and emotional impact of using emergency food support on individuals, as well as the implications of these experiences for organisations providing food support and for public health more generally.
